Research focus
Casting processes in theatre are fraught sites of complex, performative competition, governed by unstated, unsystematic and unaccountable systems. To model a possible alternative, three experiments in casting process were tested to reduce the overall degree of uncertainty operative in the casting situation, and attempt to provide the actors with more agency.
